Sometimes I like going away from fanfiction. I always have original ideas, but sometimes i need ideas to implement the other ideas. Like the original work I'm trying to write now.
I had the idea a few years ago when I wondered how it would be to be able to command Death. I never really knew how to get it off the ground, no matter how much I tried to write it. So then while trying to find inspiration, I saw Shaman King. The idea of controlling spirits and using their powers was pretty similar to the idea I had, but I didnt want to write a ripoff of Shaman King,though i could implement an idea or two from it. So i tried getting more ideas. Again my muse was anime, specifically Fate/Stay Night and a little D.GrayMan. So my idea evolved into, a story about a person whos part of an organization of people who have partners that are spirits, or creatures of myth, who can use the partners powers through some type of spiritual bond. I wasnt sure if this was reminiscent of any other anime. I dont want to write a story, and have people thinking it reminds them of something else. It'll make me look like a fraud. Like I stole someones idea and made it my own. It wouldn't be fair. Does my idea seem original enough to warrant a fantastic fantasy/spiritual story, that nobody will think I stole?
